TWELVE JYOTIRLING
The World Welfare Organisation is a Public Charitable Trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act. 1950. It is registered with Charity Commissionerate of Gujarat. The Reg. No. is F/8541/Ahmedabad, dated 4/02/2002. Under the auspice of the trust many projects of human development are activated bringing welfare by developing ‘the person’ and there by ‘the scoiety’.
Shree Somanath
This Jyotirling is originally situated on the Arabian sea shore in the holy town of Prabhash Patan (Near Veraval) in the Saurashtra region of the state of Gujarat. It is mentioned in the holy Skandpuran that God Moon himself constructed it in order to worship Lord Shiva so as to be free from the curse.
Shree Mallikarjun
This Jyotirling is originally situated on the banks of river Krishna atop Konch hills in the shree Shailam area of Kurnool district in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This region abounds in flower named mallika and arjun hence the name.
Shree Mahakalleshwar
This Jyotiling is originally situated on the bank of river Shipra in Ujjain the cultural capital of the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Shree Omkareshwar
This Jyotirling is originally situated towards south of the city of Indore in the state of Madhya Pradesh on an island in the holy river of Narmada.
Shree Vaidyanath
The location of this Jyotirling has two opinions One opinion is that it is situated in a place called Parli at Devdhar in the region called Sathanmandal in the state of Bihar. The other opinion says that it is situated at a town called Parli near Aurangabad in the state of Maharashtra.
Shree Bhimshankar
This Jyotirling is originally situated on the banks of the river Bhima in the dakini region which is toward the east of the city of Pune in the state of Maharashtra.
Shree Rameshwaram
This Jyotirling is originally situated on the banks of the river Bhima in the dakini region which is toward the east of the city of Pune in the state of Maharashtra.
Shree Nageshwar
The original location of this Jyotirling also has two opinion. As per one opinion it is situated in the Nagnath Aunda region of district Parbhani in the state of Maharashtra. The other opinion state that it is located in the Darukavan region near the holy town of Dwarka in the state of Gujarat.
Shree Vishweshwar
This Jyotirling is situated in one of the most pious & holy city of Banaras also known as Varanasi or Kashi region in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Shree Trambakeshwar
This Jyotirling is situated in the Trambak region on the banks of the river Godavri in the Sahyadri mountain range near the town of Nashik in the state of Maharashtra.
Shree Kedarnath
This Jyotirling is located on the bank of river Mandakini on the Kedarnath hills range in Gadhwal district of the state of Uttaranchal.
Shree Dhushmeshwar
This Jyotirling is situated near Ellora and Dualatabad in the district of Aurangabad in the state of Maharashtra. As per the mythological tale in ancient times lord Vishnu in his Narnaryan incarnation worhipped Lord Shiva in the Kedar region resulting in Lord Shiva appearing in the form of a Jyotirling and on Narnaryan’s request settled over there. Behind this Jyotirling is the holy shrine of Adi Shankaracharya. The worship of this Jyotirling is closed during winter as the whole area is covered in snow and hence is inaccessible.
